2004 Toyota 4Runner "Orion"
I'm in love with a vehicle again and it feels good! I've never named a vehicle before, but I've been so impressed with the 4Runner that I decided to change that. I already have more adventures planned for Orion than I ever dreamed of having in The XJ.
Here's where I'll be tracking the changes I make to improve either it's off-road comfort & capabilities, or it's daily utility.
My plans for Orion include the following:
-
2" Spacer Lift: DONE - REMOVED
-
Swapped this out for a Rough Country 3" combo lift - DONE
-
-
Rear Locker: Spartan Rear Locker: DONE - Removed
-
Plans for an ARB or Harrop E-Locker
-
-
Front Bumper: Victory 4x4 Hybrid Winch Bumper
-
UCA's: JBA Upper Control Arms - DONE
-
Rear Bumper (if I get one at all): Coastal Offroad DIY/WIY rear bumper
-
Sliders: RSG Sliders
-
Armor: Full skid plates from RCI Metalworks, including a gas tank skid
-
Tires: 285/70R17's (~33" x 11") BFG KO2's - DONE
-
In conjunction with SpiderTrax wheel spacers
-
-
Wheels: There are a couple of 5th Gen 4Runner wheels that I like, which would give me a nice looking offset for the 285's
-
Front E-Locker by Harrop - Maybe some day...
-
And of course, more recovery gear for self-sufficient Overlanding, such as...
a. Spot or Garmin satellite tracking/recovery device
b. Traction/recovery boards, like MaxTraax or "Bridging Ladders" like these
c. Deadman Offroad land anchor
d. Random straps & tree savers, like offered by Southeast Overland
e. HAM Radio for advanced communications
f. Powertank air system
